This historic channel was built in the early 1900’s to connect the Union and Portage Bays in the Seattle area and remains an important shipping channel. During the summer months, boat regattas and parades are held here, and it is used by the University of Washington’s rowing team, which makes for an extra special outing with your fur-ever friend. This path was developed to offer a waterside walk to be enjoyed by all and is now listed as a National Recreational Trail.
