Description

Looking for a place to hike with your pup has never been easier than the Ricketts Glen State Park. Located in Benton, Pennsylvania, you will be treated to amazing hikes all within the same area. You can visit numerous times and never cross the same path twice.

Ricketts Glen has over 13,000 acres to explore with 14 different trails that have been carved into this beautiful setting for your enjoyment. Pick up the trailhead to begin your hike at one of five dedicated parking areas: On the west side of the state park, you will find Lake Rose Trailhead Parking. The south side offers the Evergreen Parking lot and Rt 118 Trailhead Parking lot, and on the northside is the Visitor’s Center Parking lot. The east side features Beach Lot #2 Parking lot. Any place you begin will lead you to the other trails that interconnect.

Best known for their 22 spectacular waterfalls, there is one trail that will allow you and your fur-ever friend to experience 18 of them all from the same path. The Falls Trail System offers a 3.5-mile loop out of its 7.2-mile stretch that takes you past these photographic wonders. You pup will enjoy this trek through woods and over streams. Just take it slowly as this hike is rated as ‘difficult’ because the footing can sometimes be muddy and slick.

The trails range in length from the easy-rated Evergreen Trail, traversing you through the woods for 1 mile, to the Mountain Springs and Old Beaver Dam Road Trail’s more difficult hikes measuring 4 miles each. No matter which one you choose, you will be immersed in some of the country’s most beautiful lands.

Restrooms are scattered throughout the state park, and boat launches, swimming on Lake Jean and horseback riding are all offered here. The Ricketts Glen State Park is an amazing adventure just waiting for you both in Benton, Pennsylvania.
