Doll's Head Trail

The Doll’s Head Trail is a quiet 1.5-mile loop trail that is easy and features a nice lake and pond in Conley, which is just outside Atlanta. The path can be overgrown and has poison ivy if you step off the trail, so stay on track. You and your poochie will most likely see some deer and other critters, and many diffurent flowers along the trail.

Beltline Eastside Trail

This pawpular 7-mile trail is heavily trafficked with hikers, bikers, and kids, and is even stroller and wheelchair furiendly. Starting at Piedmont Park, meander around the lake and playground to the trail that treks south past Fourth Ward Park, Freedom Park, and meets up with the Freedom Path before ending at Edgewood Avenue NE and Randolph Street NE. It’s a busy walk with lots of art, shops, and places to relax along the way.

Freedom Path

If you are looking for a good workout, check out the 8-mile Freedom Path in Atlanta with an elevation gain of almost 500 feet. Start your adventure on Ponce de Leon Avenue NE at Deepdene Park, then cross South Fork Peavine Creek. This pawsome trail travels through Dellwood, Candler, and Freedom Parks to Jackson Street and Freedom Parkway where it meets the Stone Mountain Trail, which can extend the trek or mark the end of the journey.

Southtowne Trail

Your 2.6-mile Southtowne Trail adventure begins at South Bend Park on Lakewood Avenue and treks for about a half a mile through the woods in the park to the Baywood neighborhood. Meandering along the South River, you will then pass through part of the Swann Preserve where you and Fifi will likely see a lot of wild critters, as well as native flowers dotting the path.

Terrace and Spring Trail Loop

Starting at Cascade Road in Atlanta, Georgia you can find the 1.2-mile Terrace and Spring Trail Loop. For most of the trail, you and your furbuddy will enjoy the peacefulness of the wooded trail where you will meander along the Utoy Creek for 0.3 miles. You and Fifi will cross a bridge over the creek and can see a moss-covered stone and mortar springhouse on the spring by the Cascade Springs Falls before heading back.

Woodward Academy Walk

Just outside Atlanta in College Park, this 1.6-mile walk is mostly sidewalks for walkers and joggers, but is also great for pups and their owners. If you and Fifi are looking for something simple in town, try this pretty walk through the academic neighborhood. Starting and ending on Walker Avenue, this rectangular path goes past several of the schools, Gresham Chapel, the campus store, Rutland Hall, the stadium, and ball fields.

Reeves Creek Trail

The Reeves Creek Trail is a nice and easy paved trail of only 3.1 miles in Stockbridge, just outside of Atlanta. Perfect fur all skill levels, the path takes you along the Reeves Creek starting at Flippen Road, and ends at Jenning Way. It’s wheelchair and stroller furiendly and pawpular on the weekends, so come during the week if you would rather have the path to yourself.

Briarwood Trail

At only 0.6-miles, this short and easy trail that only has a 52-foot elevation gain is pawpular with everyone who visits, including those of us with canine kids who love to walk in the woods. Starting at the Briarwood Park on Briarwood Way, you will enter the thickly wooded path that takes you along the playgrounds, ballfields, a community garden, and even a butterfly garden. You and your pooch will love this hike.

Fernbank Forest Trail

When you and your canine kid just need a short hike through the forest, try the one-mile loop in Fernbank Forest in downtown Atlanta. Starting by the Fernbank Science Center, this pawpular trek through the oaks, hickory, and dogwood trees takes you and Fifi past the Huntemann Pond where the woods come alive with critters. With hundreds of animal species and birds, you and your pup will not get bored fur sure.
