#9 Cathedral Rock Trail

Next time your furry friend wants an adventure, head over to Cathedral Rock Trail in Mt. Charleston and get hiking! Venture down the trail through the pines and aspens until the trail starts to slope up. Before you know it, you’ll be trucking up the switchbacks to the top of Cathedral Rock. Once on top of the rock, your pal will feel like a champion as they enjoy the view.

#8 Mount Charleston National Recreational Trail South

Is your pup looking for a challenge? Well, this trail will certainly deliver. Starting at the Cathedral Rock Trailhead in Mt. Charleston, this trail wastes no time putting your pup’s legs to work. You and your pal will be treated to cliffs and wildflowers before rising above the treeline and making it to the peak. This hike is for fit pets and their parents, and requires a lot of time and plenty of water.

#7 Moenkopi Loop

Located inside Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Las Vegas, this mellow trail is a furrific option if your pupster feels like taking it easy. The two mile trail begins at the Conservation’s Visitor Center and meanders along a limestone ridge. Your pal will pawsitivley love the view of the Wilson Cliffs. Fossils and beautiful desert flora can also be seen while walking along this pawsome trail.

#6 Calico Tanks Trail

If your four legged hiker is ready for their next trail, make your way over to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and check out Calico Tanks Trail. This Las Vegas trail cuts across gorgeous red sandstone and leads you to a hidden water pocket. It’s just over two miles long and is moderately strenuous in some places, so make sure you have plenty of water on hand.  

#5 La Madre Spring Trail

This Las Vegas trail puts you and your leashed doggo right in between furrific rock formations. As you make your way up the canyon, red and white sandstone cliffs will be on one side, and gray limestone mountains will be on the other. Located inside Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, this 3.5 mile hike takes you to the vegetated La Madre Spring, where you can sit and paws for a break. 

#4 Arnight Trail

Arnight Trail is a beautiful Las Vegas hike that will give your doggo the full desert experience. It crosses the base of the red and white Wilson Cliffs and meanders through open little washes. As your pupster treks through the yucca, cholla, and brittlebush, they’ll feel like a true explorer. Since the 1.5 mile trail is quite exposed, bring more than enough water for you and your doggo. 

#3 Pine Creek Canyon Trail

At 2.4 miles, this Las Vegas trail lets your dog get a decent amount of exercise while also seeing some of beautiful plant life in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Your furry BFF will be in heaven as they walk along the monolithic canyon walls and feel the cool breeze that comes off the creek. Plus the ponderosa pines make this place smell furrific!

#2 Ice Box Canyon Trail

When the Las Vegas temperature soars, this is where your pup will want to be. Access to the Ice Box Canyon is found inside Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Although the trail is only 2.2 miles, it is rated as strenuous since you and your canine buddy have to travel across open desert and scramble up some boulders. But the relief you get from the blistering heat is pawsitively worth it!

#1 Flamingo Arroyo Trail

Located in the southeast corner of greater Las Vegas, this urban trail begins in Paradise and ends up in Clark County Wetlands Park. From start to finish, it’s just over 15 miles, so your doggo will have more than enough room to stretch their legs. Your pup will be happy to know that bridges and underpasses keep trail users safe from the surrounding traffic. Once you get to the Wetlands, spend some time exploring this puptacular park!
