Description

The Warrenton Branch Greenway is a pawesome paved trail that welcomes dogs on-leash. This 1.5-mile point-to-point trail is a very popular place to walk dogs, and as you go along the trail, you’ll pass by tons of interesting sites!

Warrenton Branch Greenway has two trailheads: one at Old Meetze Road and one at 4th Street, which is right near Old Town Warrenton. Both trailheads have plenty of parking, and the trailhead at 4th Street also has a park plaza and a historic caboose you can check out with your pup before you start walking.

As you go along the trail, you’ll walk through a quiet suburban neighborhood, and you’ll pass numerous local businesses. You’ll also go through beautiful wooded areas that are filled with wildflowers in the spring, and you’ll cross two wooden bridges that take you over busy roadways.

If you want to learn more about the railroad that used to run through Warrenton, there are interpretive signs along the trail. If you or your dog need a break during your walk, there are benches throughout the trail where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Dog waste stations are available all along Warrenton Branch Greenway, but you’ll want to bring water for you and your dog with you. There are also some portions of the trail that have limited shade.

Locals note that the trail is well-maintained, making it pawfect for dog walkers. Prepare to meet other four-legged friends along your trek -- this path tends to get a little crowded in the summer!

Warrenton Branch Greenway is a mostly flat, paved trail that you and your dog will both have fun exploring. This trail is a great place to go for a short but scenic walk with your dog. Remember to clean up after your pup while you’re walking on the trail, and enjoy spending the day with your pup on this furtastic greenway!
