Waterfall Canyon Trail itself is an easy, family friendly trail. It welcomes people and pups of all fitness levels. Because of it's combination of beauty and convenience, it can get fairly busy.Â
The Waterfall Canyon Trailhead can be found on the east side of White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Here you'll find plenty of parking, sheltered picnic areas, and restrooms. From this point, you and your pal can embark on your Sonoran Desert adventure, just be sure have enough water and clean up bags for the journey!Â
The first half of the trail is paved, and easy on the paws. There is plenty of desert landscape and wildflower views to soak in along the way. You will be able to find some shade by means of the large boulders and desert trees. The end of the trail, as promised, brings you to the trail's namesake waterfall. This 80 foot high waterfall only runs after a rainfall, but almost always has a shallow pool at the bottom where your pup can cool their paws. The sheer, rock walls and shadows are sure to bring some respite from the desert sun. On the southwest rock face, you'll even see some Native American petroglyphs carved into the stone. To learn more about the landscape in this regional park, you can check out the Nature Center at the park entrance.Â
Doggos are welcome along this trail, and are likely to meet some other furry friends as well. It's asked that pups stay leashed, and are picked up after at all times.Â
Water Canyon Trail makes it a breeze to enjoy the Sonoran Desert with your best pal. Â
