Eastchester is the producer of a pristine, high-quality marble known as the "Tuckahoe Marble". Eastchester is also home to many famous local landmarks such as St. Paul's Church, which once housed wounded soldiers during the American Revolution, the Marble Schoolhouse, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1835 from the famous "Tuckahoe Marble", the town hall, and the Hotel Gramatan, built in 1905 which houses many aspiring writers and artists during the turn-of-the-century.
