Welcome to beautiful Eastchester, New York!  Eastchester was first settled by 10 families in 1664 and those 10 families were soon followed by 26 more families - and so on and so on until Eastchester became home to hundreds and hundreds of happy singles, families and their pets!  This beautiful city is very walkable, clean, and safe.  Be sure your doggo is leashed as you two explore the city streets of this neighborhood.

Eastchester is the producer of a pristine, high-quality marble known as the "Tuckahoe Marble". Eastchester is also home to many famous local landmarks such as St. Paul's Church, which once housed wounded soldiers during the American Revolution, the Marble Schoolhouse, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1835 from the famous "Tuckahoe Marble", the town hall, and the Hotel Gramatan, built in 1905 which houses many aspiring writers and artists during the turn-of-the-century. This neighborhood is rich in history and provides plenty of amenities to visit and see during a stroll with your pup.

Eastchester is a beautiful city to explore with your pup!  The streets are mainly flat and the buildings of the area consist of local businesses and eateries as well as housing for the citizens of Eastchester.  The architecture of the city is as diverse as it is beautiful. Eastchester also has many greenways for you and your fur-coat wearing buddy to relax, play or a little of both. Though this neighborhood is mostly flat, you may want to explore some of the areas outside of the neighborhood to diversify your walk or look for a more challenging terrain. There are also some greenway spaces that can help change things up here and there. Ultimately, this area is best for long, leisurely walks to see the local sights and enjoy some of the amenities, rather than providing any serious rises or falls in elevation for those looking for a challenging hike.

In addition to the many area parks Eastchester has - such as Chester Heights Park, Dunwoodie Park and Joyce Road Park - the best trail path is just miles away at Briarcliff Manor. The Hardscrabble Wilderness Area trail!  This trail consists of a 3.5-mile hike that contains little to no steep hills, making it an easy hike and a great, relaxing trek for you and your furry pal.  Take your time and enjoy the best nature has to offer: greenways and lots of brooks and ponds where Fido, Fifi, and you can take a quick dip or get a nice sip of cool water along the way!  Be sure your pup stays on his/her leash and is under your control along the route. Just remember to always be a courteous paw parent and clean up any 'leavings' your pup leaves behind.  What a way to spend the paw-fect day with your best friend!
