The community of Olde Town East is sandwiched between US-62 to the north, I-70 to the south, I-71 to the west ,and two other communities known as Franklin Park and South of Main to the east. It is primarily a residential community of single and multifamily housing.

Nationwide Children's Hospital is to the south at the intersection of I-70 and I-71. There are several excellent restaurants within driving distance as well as parks and places to shop for pet supplies. Thanks to the proximity of the interstates, people who can live here can easily commute into the heart of the city for work.

Winters can be brutal with weeks of below freezing temperatures and plenty of snow and ice for you to deal with on your daily walks. Summers make up for it with lots of blue skies and temperatures in the mid-to-upper-80s, which are perfect for taking your pooch on long walks around the community.

The terrain in Olde Town East is a typical urban neighborhood with densely packed residential streets lined with sidewalks for you and your pooch to take your daily strolls on. You can use the sidewalks to take you virtually anywhere in the community or into one of the neighboring communities if you aren't getting in enough distance by staying inside the borders.

East Main Street and the East Freeway to the south are places you'll want to avoid if you have a dog that isn't prepared to navigate areas with heavier traffic. East Main passes a few larger retail establishments which can be beneficial if you need to stop in for a quick errand, but if not, your best bet is to stick to the smaller subdivisions nearby.

Olde Town East also has plenty of areas to stop in some small grassy patches to give your pup a reprieve from the pavement.

One thing that seems to be missing from Olde East Town is much in the way of usable green space. In fact, beyond Blackburn Park which offers tennis courts, a Community Recreation Center, and plenty of room for you and your pup to run around and play on, you'll need to venture outside of the boundaries of the neighborhood to find more options!

Ten minutes to the west is the Topiary Park with gardens, walking paths, and topiary sculptures for you to enjoy. To the east is the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens with more trails and gardens. Beyond this, there are any number of small neighborhood parks and vacant lots scattered throughout Olde East Town.

If you don’t mind driving a little bit further to the Scioto River, you and Fido can cruise over to the Scioto Greenway and Whittier Peninsula where you will find vast areas of grass to play on and numerous walking trails.
