Rivercrest is very much a residential neighborhood with very few non-residential spaces. Within the neighborhood's borders, you will find one convenience store, one boutique, several churches, several schools, and a health care center. You will also find access to public transportation. However, to find many essentials like a grocery store or a pet supply store, you will have to leave Rivercrest for a nearby neighborhood. Residentially, Rivercrest is largely made of standalone, single-family homes, but there are a few smaller apartment complexes throughout the neighborhood.
Oregon City typically has hot, dry summers with average temperatures ranging from 60 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters, on the other hand, tend to be cold and wet with several inches of snowfall.
While the majority of Rivercrest is relatively flat, there are some significant hills near Singer Creek Park. You may wish to avoid this area if you are not looking for a more strenuous workout.
The boundaries of Rivercrest are not linear, but are considered to be Canemah and the downtown area to the north, Barclay Hills to the east, Mt. Pleasant to the south, and South End to the west.
There are also a few other greenways located in the surrounding neighborhoods. These include Stafford City Park, Old Canemah Park, Hazelwood City Park, Hartke City Park, and Chapin City Park.
Finally, a few miles north of Rivercrest, you will find not one, but two dog parks in Oregon City! Barclay Park and Park Place Park both have off-leash areas for Fido to explore and meet up with other local pups.
