Besides a local market, there are almost no businesses in South End, however, you will find three churches, an elementary school, and a fire station. There are no pet-related businesses directly in the neighborhood, but there is a groomer, a pet supply store, and an animal clinic a few neighborhoods over. Residentially, this neighborhood is made of standalone, single-family homes and one smaller apartment complex.
As you can probably imagine, Oregon can have quite brutal winters with freezing temperatures and several inches of snowfall or freezing rain. Summers, however, tend to be hot and dry with average temperatures ranging from 60-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Spring and fall months can really vary, so always check the daily forecast before heading out.
The boundaries of South End include Telford Road to the northeast, South Central Point Road to the southeast, Lafayette Avenue, Conifer Road, and South Partlow Road to the southwest, and Madrona Drive, Deebrook Drive, and South End Road to the northwest. South End Road and Warner Parrott Road are the major roadways going through South End, so pedestrians may wish to avoid those areas while walking.
Other nearby parks include Canemah Bluff Nature Park, Ole Canemah Park, Rivercrest Park, Singer Creek Park, Hillendale Park, and Wesley Lynn Park.
Thankfully, there are two dog parks located in Oregon City, although a bit north of South End. These off-leash areas can be found in Barclay Park and Park Place Park, both on the south side of the Williamette River. These are perfect options if you have extra time or just want Fido to socialize with other local pups.
