Transfer doesn't have much to offer in the way of activities or adventures, but what it lacks in excitement, it makes up for with its breathtaking views of where the Snake River and Clearwater River meet. Just across the river clearing is the Lewiston Levee Parkway Trail, which offers visitors over 12 miles of paths with fun historical information about Lewis and Clark’s expedition through the area. The scenic area is an excellent destination for a day-cation with your favorite hiking partner! Be sure to keep Spot carefully leashed while exploring Transfer, and always bring supplies to clean up after your pets.

North Lewiston

This pet-friendly neighborhood is a great choice for families looking to make a permanent move, as it has its very own dog park located within walking distance! Recently opened, Penny Memorial Dog Park is located near Clearwater Park and is still collecting donations so it can continue to expand and offer convenient amenities. North Lewiston is separated from the rest of the city by the Clearwater River, which offers a beautiful backdrop for morning walks. Want to spend the day in nature? Head over to Hells Canyon, where you can follow the hiking and biking trails or just explore the 10-mile landscape.

Lewiston Orchards

Towards the southern end of the Lewiston is the quaint neighborhood of Lewiston Orchards, a more residential area flush with plenty of available pet-friendly accommodations. Feeling a bit peckish during an afternoon stroll? As long as you keep your pooch safely leashed, they can join you for a quick bite in the neighborhood. Try Spot-on Yogurt for a yummy mid-day treat. The area is mostly suburban and is an excellent choice for pet parents who enjoy a brisk bike ride or a long walk through the neighborhood. Not a Lewiston local? Moscow is a small city in Idaho just 30 minutes north of Lewiston. There is plenty to do in the neighborhood, but residents and visitors can venture just outside of Moscow to enjoy outdoor activities in the mountains nearby. Want to explore the trails? Try the East Moscow Mountain trail, which has over 13 miles of beautiful nature to explore with your furry friend – just be sure to keep them safely leashed. If you and your fur family prefer small, secluded towns with quiet residents and lots of nature, Juliaetta is just the town for you! Main Street offers a central hub for residents and visitors to shop and dine, though pet owners living in Juliaetta will have to visit neighboring cities to stock up on pet supplies. If you enjoy long walks with your pups throughout incredible nature trails, the Ed Corkill Memorial River Trail offers stunning views of the Potlach River, which runs parallel to the city. Located just 2 miles north of the Nez Perce Indian Reservation, this area is rich with history and culture.
