Fox River Grove

Fox River Grove includes a shopping district, some restaurants, a middle school, and residential areas. This neighborhood has quiet streets with sidewalks where you and Fido can take a little stroll together. For a special treat, take your pup up to Picnic Grove Park on the Fox River. This 30-acre facility has open fields where you and your four-footed friend can get some exercise. Bring your boat and cast out on the river with your pal. Dogs are permitted in designated parts of the park as long as you keep them on a leash. Bring along waste bags to pick up any waste.

Cuba

The rural neighborhood of Cuba in Lake Barrington is just southeast of Fox River Grove. Here, you and Fido can take a walk down tree-lined roads. When you want to go on an outdoor adventure with your special pal, head to Spring Lake Forest Preserve, located about eight miles south of Cuba. There's a parking lot off E. Penny Road by the pond. Hike or jog along the trails that wind past serene lakes and through the forest. Dogs are permitted here as long as you keep them on a leash at all times. Bring waste bags and water with you for your outing.

Trout Valley

The village of Trout Valley is across the river and to the northwest of Fox River Grove. This residential development has single-family homes in a wooded area. There are country-like roads here where you and your canine companion can walk together. When you want to get off the pavement and wander through the woods, head west to the Fox Bluff Conservation Area. There are trails that wind through the woods and wetlands of this 279-acre property.  Dogs can join you here, provided you keep them on a leash that's up to ten feet long and you clean up their waste.

Foxmoor Park

The neighborhood around Foxmoor Park includes single-family homes and duplexes. There are sidewalks lining the streets that you and your pooch can use for a walk or jog. The park itself includes two ponds and a hiking trail through the woods on the west side of Lexington Avenue. Enjoy a peaceful walk here with your furry pal, or bring a fishing pole and try your luck in one of the ponds. Dogs are welcome to accompany you in the park as long as you keep them under control and on a leash. Bring some bags to pick up any droppings when you visit this public area.

N River Road

The N River Road neighborhood includes private residences, some small businesses, two parks, and the marina. Go for a short jaunt with your pup down the sidewalks in this peaceful neighborhood. To really stretch your legs, check out Picnic Grove Park off Birch Lane. This riverside facility includes some open space and a wooded area. Play frisbee in the grass or walk along the shore of the Fox River with your special pal. Bring some food and grab a picnic by the water while your furry friend relaxes by your side. Leashed dogs are allowed to join you here. Make sure you pick up after your companion.
