Huntley doesn't have any dog parks of its own, but you can find one a short drive away in Crystal Lake. Head over to the Hound Town Dog Park, within the larger Lippold Park. The dog park is 3 acres for dogs to play around and socialize off-leash. This is a members-only park, so you'll need to pay a fee to the city parks department before visiting. The park has a large dog area and a small dog area. There are lots of water bowls and waste bags there, so you don't have to worry about remembering to bring any of that. It's very clean and shaded and has benches for the pet owners. All you need to bring is your sense of adventure and Fido's favorite toy!

West Dundee

West Dundee

Around 9 miles away from Huntley is another dog park called Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve, located in West Dundee. In this preserve, you can find a 5-acre dog park where dogs can run around off-leash. The park is properly fenced and includes grassy areas and wooded paths. There are no poop bags provided and no trash stations, so you should be prepared for that. The park is free and there is no permit needed for entering. There is water available, but you should bring water bowl for your four-legged baby. Be aware that the park might get muddy when it rains.

Bull Valley

Approximately 14 miles away from Huntley is yet another park named Bull Valley Dog Park situated in Bull Valley. This 7-acre park was opened in 2014 to give all the pups in the area a place to play off-leash. The park is completely fenced, and if you decide to visit, you should bring your own water. Make sure you bring poop bags as well so you can clean up after your pupper. The permits for residents are $65 and $130 for non-residents. For the permits, your dog needs a rabies tag, and only two dogs can be brought into the park at one time.

West Lake in the Hills

Another park in the vicinity of Huntley is the Lake in the Hills Dog Park. The park is located in West Lake in the Hills, just 4 miles from Huntley. The park is fenced so your dog can play here safely off-leash. The Lake in the Hills Dog Park offers water on-site and is separated into different areas for large dogs and small dogs. The park is very shaded, which makes it the perfect spot for cooling off on the warm days. In the summer, they put out kiddie pools for the dogs, so be sure to bring a towel! You should also be aware that, if you want to visit this park, you have to buy a permit.
Wayne

Wayne

There is a great trail in the vicinity of Huntley called Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve, about 25 miles away from Huntley. The designated off-leash area for dogs in the Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve is fenced on three sides, so if you have a runner, you might want to keep the leash on.
