Grab Fido and head into Murray, which is only seven miles out of Almo, for a puptastic adventure. At the Murray-Calloway County Dog Park inside of the Murray-Calloway Central Park, your pup will love being able to run around off leash and meet some new friends. The park offers a water fountain for your dog, agility equipment for the more active dogs, and a gazebo for shade. If your dog likes playing with pups his own size, this dog park offers a large and small dog section. They also provide clean-up bags in case you forget yours, making this park a pawsome place to visit. If Fido isn't a fan of the dog park, the two of you can still have a great afternoon out at the Murray-Calloway Central Park. The park is a whopping 165-acres with a few sports fields, a wooded area dying to be explored, and tons of open space for the two of you to play fetch in. Hop onto the 3.5-mile walking trail and take a nice stroll with your pup before heading home.

If you are just craving some good old fashioned ice cream, look no further then Dairy Queen. Grab a vanilla cone and make your dog's day by sharing a lick. Route 79/ Thompson Dr

Grab Fido and get a change of scenery by heading into Buchanan, Tennessee. Only twenty miles out of Almo your dog will love visiting the Lakeview Grill with you for a tasty meal. The Lakeview Grill serves traditional American-style food in a diner setting. This hole-in-the-wall restaurant serves anything from chicken and friends, to grilled cheese, or a classic breakfast if you're craving it. Maybe your pup can even get some ham if he behaves while you visit. They have a dog friendly patio that welcomes your pup to join you for a delicious and relaxing meal before you continue your adventure. After a delicious meal take a nice walk with your pup at the Paris Landing State Park. This pawsome park is 841-acres and located on the Tennessee River. They offer fishing, boating, hiking, and camping if you want to stay a few nights. Just make sure Fido stays on a leash while you visit.

Golden Pond

Sixteen miles out of Almo in Golden Pine is the Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area. This pawesome park has tons of amenities for you and Fido including hiking, water trails, camping, and a planetarium. Your dog will love hiking through the park with you, but make sure to keep him on leash while you are visiting. If you want to make a weekend adventure at the Land Between the Lakes, then grab an RV or tent campsite and stay a few nights under the stars at the park. Make sure to bring plenty of water for your pup and don't forget your clean-up bags.

Jackson St/ Panton St

Paris, Tennessee is twenty-nine miles out of Almo and home to the Atkins Porter Dog Park. This great dog park is huge which gives your dog plenty of room to run around. They offer benches for owners to relax on and water if your dog needs it. If your dog likes being a little more adventurous and active, then they offer agility equipment for your pup to run around on. The park also offers tons of hills for your dog to run up and down on, making it perfect if you are trying to tire your pup out. Make sure to bring some clean-up bags with you while you visit.
