Northeast Amherst
The Paw Park in northeastern Amherst, New York is less than a half-hour drive from Elma. This off-leash park was created thanks to the hard work of volunteers and donors, and it opened in late 2010. The park has undergone several improvements since it opened, with more to come. There's one acre of off-leash space at The Paw Park, and it includes a section for dogs who weigh less than 30 pounds, as well as an area for bigger dogs. There are water bowls and waste disposal supplies provided by the park, as well as seasonal running water for dogs to drink.36

Lakeview
Lakeview is an area of western Buffalo, and it's only about 20 miles from Elma. This area is mostly a residential community, but it's also near LaSalle Park, a 77-acre waterfront park. LaSalle Park is home to The Barkyard, an off-leash dog park that's beloved by many. It opened in 2009, and it includes more than 70,000 square feet of off-leash space with separate areas for big and small dogs. The dog park's entrances are double-gated, and it has many other convenient features as well. Along with being accessible for people with disabilities, The Barkyard has running water for drinking, waste disposal supplies, seating areas, and lighting.24

Lewiston Hilltop
Lewiston is a town in northwestern New York along the Canadian border, and the southeastern corner of town is about a 40-minute drive from Elma. This is where you'll find the Lewiston Dog Park, a spacious off-leash area with a variety of convenient amenities. Not only are there big and small dog sections in the park, but each area also has a double-gated entry system as well as size-appropriate agility equipment. There's running water available for dogs to drink during warm months of the year, but be sure to bring your own in the winter. You'll also find seating areas, waste disposal supplies, and paw-lenty of friendly dogs and humans to meet.12

Knox Farm State Park
The northwestern corner of East Aurora, New York is less than a ten-minute drive south of Elma. This area is where you'll find the incredible Knox Farm State Park, a 633-acre space with 400 acres of grasslands, 100 acres of wetlands, miles of nature trails to explore, and plenty of other fun activities. While your dog is welcome to join you on a leash on the trails and other parts of Knox Farm State Park, there's also an off-leash dog area in the park! There are separate sections for big and small dogs, as well as a water hose, bowls, and waste disposal supplies in the off-leash park.
