This 93.7-acre park is a popular place to go with dogs, and it’s home to beautiful trails that go through a peaceful forest. The trails also pass by ponds and a portion of the Little Darby Creek. If you like going fishing with your pup, fishing is permitted in Skunk Hollow Park's creek and ponds. You and your dog will both have a great time exploring this park’s trails and enjoying its lovely natural scenery.

If you want to let your dog off-leash, check out Harford Park Off-Leash Area in Wayne. This park is just two miles from Villanova, and it includes a large, unfenced open field where your pup can run and play. There’s also a creek where dogs can splash around, and there are doggy water fountains available. When your dog is finished playing, continue your fun day out with lunch at nearby Honeygrow. This café has a number of dog-friendly outdoor tables, and they serve delicious and customizable salads, stir-fry noodle and rice dishes, and healthy cold-pressed juices.

Philadelphia’s Schuylkill neighborhood is home to the fun Schuylkill River Dog Park. Located about 17 miles from Villanova, this dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs, and there are doggy bags and water fountains available. If your pup gets a little messy while they’re playing, there’s a hose you can use to clean them off. When your dog is finished playing, take them for a nice on-leash walk through Schuylkill River Park. This park has a beautiful paved walking path that goes along the Schuylkill River, and it has a community garden you can explore with your pup.

For another fun dog park, head over to this Haverford neighborhood, and check out Haverford Reserve Dog Park. This dog park is only five miles from Villanova, and it has separate areas for large dogs and small dogs that weigh less than 20 pounds. There are also picnic tables, water fountains where you can fill your dog’s bowl, and shaded areas that keep you and your pup protected from the sun. After you’re finished at the dog park, treat your dog to lunch at nearby White Dog Café. This dog-themed restaurant has six pet-friendly outdoor tables, and they serve locally-sourced sandwiches, salads, steaks, salmon, and more.

Don’t make the faux-paw of missing Reynolds’ Dog Park at Schuylkill Canal Park! This Phoenixville park is 16 miles from Villanova, and it has separate big and small dog areas. Both areas feature a large, grassy field that’s perfect for games of catch or Frisbee. There’s no water here, so be sure to bring some water with you for your pup. If you’re hungry after playing at the park, head over to nearby Fitzwater Station for a delicious sandwich, salad, burger, or shrimp basket. Dogs are welcome on this restaurant’s patio, which overlooks the scenic Schuylkill Canal. Servers will happily bring your dog a bowl of water.
