In the Providence neighborhood of the town of Johnston, 8 miles northeast of Hope, you and your pawtastic pup will have great outdoor adventures at the Snake Den State Park and Trailhead. There are 1000 acres to explore here which offer an array of walking trails throughout this beautiful land. A working farm on the property can be seen from a distance. Take any of the groomed trails which meander throughout the area for a nice hike with your fur-ever friend. Enjoy letting Fido roam off leash on many of the less-travelled trails.

Ready to take Fido for a lovely stroll? Hop on the Arkwright Harris River Walk in the nearby town of Coventry for a 1.6-mile walk along the Pawtuxet River. This is a former rail line has been converted to a footpath for residents and visitors, and features a beautiful area to roam with scenic views along the entire path. For a longer walk, the trail connects to the Phenix-Harris Riverwalk for even more fun. Be sure to keep Fido on leash on either path, and pack plenty of water and snacks for this great time together.

The John L. Curran State Park, in the Hope Road neighborhood of Hope, in the town of Providence, offers 263 acres on the Upper Curran Reservoir for some pawtastic adventure-time with your fur-ever friend. Lot of trails meander through this forested area. Hop on the Knight Farm Trail here which goes for 1.7 miles and is rated as ‘easy’. You can take three different routes which offer a change of scenery. There is a walk around the farm on site or even down some old-farm roads. Don’t forget the prime fishing opportunities here as well. Keep your pup on leash throughout.

N Pleasant St

The Riverpoint Park on the Pawtuxet River, in the town of West Warwick just 2.5 miles southeast of Hope, is a great location to spend outdoor time with your pup. The trailhead that begins here  winds past the arboretum and along the river. Your pup will enjoy roaming through the woods on this path, which offers a fun time on an extended leash. This trail is rated as very easy. The park itself offers a recreation complex, sports fields and courts, and a playground for the kiddies. Restrooms and drinking fountains are provided.
Centerville/ River Point

Centerville/ River Point

Check out the West Warwick Riverwalk, in this neighborhood of West Warwick, 2.5 miles southeast of Hope, for a great greenway hike through the area. Although only ½ mile long, it offers bicyclers, walkers and joggers a place where they can take their pup and stretch their legs in the fresh air. Beautiful scenery abounds on this paved walk along the river. This river walk is suitable for strollers, wheelchair accessible and pup-friendly. Be sure to bring water and keep your fur-ever friend on leash for their safety, because it is a multi-use trail.
