Madison

If you live in Merrimac you are incredibly lucky because you are only thirty something miles away from Madison, Wisconsin. Madison has ten dog parks where dogs of all breeds and sizes are welcome. This very well-maintained park has an agility course for dogs which includes a tunnel and two jumps! Your dog will have a wonderfurr time at the park and adore you forever! Then visit the Prairie Moraine Park, often called one of the best parks in the area because of its countless amenities.

Waunakee

Located only thirty miles from Merrimac is Waunakee, a city home to one of the best dog parks you will ever visit. The Yahara Heights Pet Exercise Area is approximately twenty acres in size. It is completely fenced in so dogs are able to run and play freely. However, it is important to know that you will need to purchase a permit before your pup is allowed to play freely in the park. But trust us, it is definitely worth the unlimited access it provides to this gorgeous stretch of land! You and your pooch will have a pawtastic time!

Sun Prairie

If you only drive approximately 45 minutes from your home in Merrimac, you can visit the Sun Prairie Pet Exercise Area located in the city of Sun Prairie. This completely off-leash park is a wonderful place to take your pet when they simply need to stretch their legs. This park does not have many amenities, so you should try to bring your own water. Furthermore, you will also need to purchase a permit for the park before your dog is allowed to enter. Even though it is quite a drive from Merrimac, the open spaces make it well worth it.
