The Eagle Creek subdivision is a rural residential community southwest of Bentonville, Arkansas. It is about a 12-minute drive to central Bentonville where area residents can reach a variety of services including a unique doggie bakery. Restaurants, shops, and services, however, are not accessible on foot for Eagle Creek residents. Local pet owners can enjoy walking their dogs around this peaceful subdivision instead and Bentonville's temperate climate is generally amenable for on foot travel.

Winters are mild with the average winter daily temperature around 32 degrees Fahrenheit. A light jacket will usually suffice to keep warm and snow is not a frequent occurrence. Summers are hot with an average temperature of around 77 degrees, however, many summers days see the mercury rise well into the 80-degree range which makes walking with your dog uncomfortable if no shade is available. Avoid walking at the height of the day on hot sunny Arkansas afternoons with your dog.

Eagle Creek is approximately .06 square miles in size. This rural residential subdivision is fenced off from main roads in the area to provide a safety barrier and decrease noise and dust from nearby roadways. A creek runs southeast of the neighborhood and there are lots of rural and natural areas around the community. The terrain in natural areas varies and there are some inclines, however, the terrain in Eagle Creek is relatively flat with paved sidewalks and grass berms. Flat terrain and pedestrian paths make it easy to walk about the neighborhood with your dog and cool grass provides soft footing for your pup.

Eagle Creek is a relatively new subdivision with large homes and yards that are closely spaced. There are large lawns and landscaping in the area has been carefully planned, however, large shade trees have not yet developed. The lack of trees means that there is little cover from the sun on hot, sunny days.

This greenway is a shared-use trail so watch out for cyclists and joggers on the trails.
