Winters are mild with the average winter daily temperature around 32 degrees Fahrenheit. A light jacket will usually suffice to keep warm and snow is not a frequent occurrence. Summers are hot with an average temperature of around 77 degrees, however, many summers days see the mercury rise well into the 80-degree range which makes walking with your dog uncomfortable if no shade is available. Avoid walking at the height of the day on hot sunny Arkansas afternoons with your dog.
Eagle Creek is a relatively new subdivision with large homes and yards that are closely spaced. There are large lawns and landscaping in the area has been carefully planned, however, large shade trees have not yet developed. The lack of trees means that there is little cover from the sun on hot, sunny days.
There are no developed greenways or parks within walking distance of Eagle Creek, however, surrounding natural areas like the creek and ravine to the east and surrounding rural properties provide natural green spaces to walk your dog.
It is just a short 10-minute drive to Lake Bentonville where a 20-acre park provides fishing docks and a launch for kayaks, canoes, and rowboats. If your dog likes to ride in a boat or fetch from the water, this is a great place to visit!
Just 8 minutes east on the Regional Airport Road, the Razorback Greenway can be accessed. This greenway is a network of trails that traverse 36 miles of urban and natural areas with plenty to explore. The trail system provides access to downtown areas, shopping areas, schools, parks, residential communities, and historic sites and museums. This greenway is a shared-use trail so watch out for cyclists and joggers on the trails.
