Wag! Walkers know Brentwood Cavalier
Brentwood Cavalier is a neighborhood located in the south section of Tempe, Arizona. The city, as a whole, is located just east of Phoenix with Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport directly between the two cities. Brentwood Cavalier is bordered by East Alameda Drive as its northern side and the neighborhood of Alameda Campus. To the south, you have East Geneva Drive while to the east, you have South Rural Road. To the west, there is South College Avenue and a large shopping mall that is known as Danelle Plaza.
The neighborhood is primarily residential, so there aren’t many pet store, vets, or other amenities directly within its borders. However, its proximity to a shopping area and a number of large superstores means you can easily reach a number of services. Tempe Veterinary Services is located just southwest of the area on West Southern Avenue while Dog Groom 2 Go is just north on South Ventura Drive.
What is the terrain like in Brentwood Cavalier?
In general, Tempe is a pretty flat city. However, it does have a couple of hilly areas which are known as the Tempe Buttes. These andesite buttes, formed from volcanic rock, are known to the locals as mountains and most famously, ‘A Mountain’, named after the large Arizona State University letter A that is on the side of its rock face. However, Brentwood Cavalier is not located near the Tempe Buttes, so the landscape should be pretty level. There are no large hills or steep declines that will impact your walk so you should not have to adjust your route to suit the area’s topography.
Brentwood Cavalier is a largely built-up area. It is almost totally residential, so it is full of streets, sidewalks, and houses. To find natural terrain, you’ll have to search outside of the neighborhood’s boundaries, perhaps further south to South Mountain Park, a 10,000-acre wild landscape.
How many greenways are there in Brentwood Cavalier?
Due to Brentwood Cavalier’s built-up environment, there are no greenways located directly within its boundaries. For a space to run off the leash, explore, and play, you’ll have to venture slightly further afield. Daley Park is located north of Brentwood Cavalier on East Encanto Drive. This large open space offers a number of sports pitches including baseball, softball, and basketball, as well as walking paths and enough space to let your dog off the leash to roam free.
Meyer Park is located just east of Brentwood Cavalier. This small urban park has green fields that are ideal for dog walkers. Locals report this as a great place to meet other like-minded walkers. It is well-maintained with a small playground for kids to play while you entertain the pooch. Finally, Joyce Park is just south of Brentwood Cavalier. It has a pretty pond that provides the ideal path to walk around.
