Wag! Walkers know Araby Eight Com l Estates

The Araby Eight commercial district and Araby Crossing residential neighborhood are located on Interstate 8 at the Araby exit and route 195. This region is located east of Yuma, Arizona, about halfway between downtown Yuma and the foothills to the east. Residents can walk to the local commercial areas just north of the community, however, the commercial areas to the north along the busy interstate are not pedestrian-friendly areas. Locals that walk their dogs may prefer to stay within the Araby Crossing-Araby Estates area or drive to nearby greenways.

When walking with their dogs in the region, Araby residents will not have their daily constitutionals rained out or hampered by cold weather as Yuma’s desert climate is hot and dry with very little rain. Hot, dry, sunny summers are beautiful for walking early or later in the evening, however, in the middle of the day, it can be uncomfortable for on-foot travel.

What is the terrain like in Araby Eight Com l Estates?

This community is under development and there is ongoing building occurring in the region. An undeveloped tract of land is situated north of Araby Crossing-Estates and there is a commercial area with a service station and convenience store located just north. More commercial and industrial areas are situated along Interstate 8 and these areas are not pedestrian-friendly regions as they have lots of high-speed traffic.

The terrain is flat and residential streets have cul-de-sacs at their terminal points. Because this is a newly developed area, there are no large mature shade trees and the neighborhood is exposed to sun and extremely dry conditions. There are sidewalks in the neighborhood that provide separate pedestrian ways for residents to walk with their pets. An RV resort is located on the east border of the residential area with route 195 running north-south alongside the area and Interstate 8 running east-west in the region.

How many greenways are there in Araby Eight Com l Estates?

Terraces Park is located just north of the Araby Eight community and contains a short walking path, open green space, and a playground where you can walk your dog locally. If you travel east down Interstate 8, Araby residents are just a 10-minute drive from the Fortuna Dog Play and Water Park. This park has separate enclosed off-leash areas for large and small dogs, water features, and waste disposal facilities. A 12-minute drive to the west will take pet owners of Araby to the Bark Park, another off-leash dog park with agility obstacles and features like double gated entries for extra safety.

Further east, natural areas with trailheads, such as the Telegraph Pass Trailhead, provide access to the foothills east of Yuma. These trails feature steep climbs and rough terrain but have spectacular views to enjoy with your furry friend. Remember to keep your dog on a leash in the foothill area and watch for local wildlife.
