Ridgeview Village is a neighborhood in El Dorado Hills, California which is a town located 22 miles east of Sacramento. The neighborhood features large, upscale homes that are built along the rolling hills in the area. In some parts of the neighborhood and at the top of the highest hills, you can get a good view of Fulsom Lake which is a large body of water that lies north of the boundaries of El Dorado Hills.

The weather in El Dorado Hills is typical of many northern California towns which makes it a beautiful place to live almost any time of year. Its average temperatures in the summertime normally have lows in the high 50s and highs in the upper 80s. In the wintertime, it almost never gets colder than 30 degrees. Though the summer days are warm, they are arid with low humidity so it will be important to stay hydrated on a walk.

The terrain in Ridgeview Village is very hilly like most of the El Dorado Hills area. Its streets constantly slope up and down and wind around sharp corners. Many points in the neighborhood are relatively high up and will give you a good vantage point to look down on surrounding neighborhoods and communities. The development is only a few decades old, so even though there is some foliage and greenery on every road, much of the environment is paved and artificial.

Ridgeview Valley will not have heavy foot or street traffic at any time of day, although things will get a little busier around rush hour. Some commuters who work in Sacramento live in the neighborhood and will be going to and from the city, but for the most part, you shouldn’t have any trouble walking in the neighborhood. Just keep in mind that pavement and concrete can get hot in the summer, so exercise caution when walking.

Ridgeview Village has a few small parks within its borders and some larger ones that are within easy walking distance. Kalithea Park, located on the northern side of the neighborhood, is known for its beautiful views of both Fulsom Lake and the city of Sacramento. It has a natural turf sports field, a playground for children, picnic tables, and a walking path that you and your dog can enjoy.

Just two blocks south of Kalithea Park is Ridgeview 7 Park which is much smaller in size but still has a playground and some open green space. Parkview Heights Park is located another few steps east of Kalithea Park and it is larger than Ridgeview Park with picnic tables, open green space, and another playground. These three parks are all very close to any location in Ridgeview Village and are great options for you and your dog to explore together.
