For a smaller neighborhood, Atwater Village does have several greenways including North Atwater Park, Chevy Chase Park, Los Feliz Golf Course, Glassell Park Recreation Center Complex and its respective greenways, Glassell Park Community Garden, and Glenhurst Park. North Atwater Park, the largest greenway in Atwater Village, has baseball, volleyball, and basketball courts, a playground, and a picnic area for you and your pup to enjoy. In these areas, you'll want to keep an eye out for local leash laws.
However, immediately to the west of Atwater Village is an extremely large greenway comprised of several public parks including Griffith Park. Griffith Park is home to the Los Angeles Zoo, The Greek Theater, plenty of hiking and equestrian trails, gardens, and an observatory. This park thankfully does have a dog park, where your pup can have a little off-leash exercise and socialize with other dogs from the same area.
