There are plenty of nice days in sunny Los Angeles with access to outdoor venues being year around, and little inclement weather. Beverlywood also features three school in the area that make great walking destinations for residents and pets with children attending local schools, or to enjoy a game on local sports fields.
Many large trees provide shade along boulevards in hot summers, and there are plenty of large natural areas between homes. Benedict Channel runs along the west side of this community and Hillcrest Country Club borders it to the north, providing plenty of natural areas that can be viewed from the community. Although residential neighborhoods are relatively quiet to enjoy a walk through with your dog, there are some more developed commercial areas on the eastern side of Beverlywood with more traffic to watch for.
The homeowners associations in this neighborhood own and maintain several private parks for residents to enjoy. These parks are gated and can only be used by residents with access. Some parks allow pets, so check with your local community association for regulations, and to arrange access to private parks. The largest of these private parks in Beverlywood is Circle Park, which features trees, open green space and benches, and allows dogs on-leash.
There are a few nearby off-leash dog parks a short drive away. The Boneyard Dog Park is located just south of Beverlywood in Culver City, and features night lighting, benches, shade, a water supply, separate areas for large and small dogs, and an acre of room to romp. If you are looking for a more natural setting and adventure there are plenty of wilderness areas in the Santa Monica Mountains to the north, and the Santa Monica pier and boardwalk to the west allows dogs as long as they are leashed to enjoy some ocean views and breezes in sunny California.
