Echo Park features a mix of everything: busy streets with many storefronts, scenic parks, and winding residential streets. The neighborhood is fairly hilly, especially if you venture off Sunset Boulevard. The steep hills are worth it though, as they provide some of the most scenic views of Los Angeles' skyline. Some of the streets don't have sidewalks or are very narrow, but those are easily avoidable.
Spanning nearly 2.5 square miles, there are many places to explore in Echo Park. You and your pup will experience an enjoyable walk with plenty to discover from the shops on Sunset to the greenery surrounding the lake. Stick to streets like Sunset Boulevard or Glendale Avenue if you want to explore businesses or head over to Echo Park Lake for a more peaceful stroll. There's a lot of green space, especially around Echo Park Lake, but you'll encounter diverse foliage wherever you go.
The neighborhood also offers easy access to Dodgers Stadium and its surrounding greenways. Elysian Park features a variety of hiking paths that take you to some wonderful scenic stops.
