Palms is a residential neighborhood located on the west side of Los Angeles, well-known as the home for the unusual Museum of Jurassic Technology. The neighborhood spans about three miles and features a mix of apartment and single-family homes in addition to a variety of restaurant, shopping, and entertainment options. Around the neighborhood, you'll find the Center Sinai Animal Hospital, Pet Rescue Supply Store, and two groomers: Pampered Tails and April's Furry Tail Mobile Pet Grooming. There are also several pet stores in the neighboring Culver City community.

With plenty to do all around the neighborhood, you and your pooch will have a fun time exploring Palms. The weather in Los Angeles is warm and mild all year round, though the summer can bring some sweltering days and the winter months are a little on the rainy side. Most days in Los Angeles are sunny and beautiful, but always check the weather before heading out.

Palms is a fairly hilly neighborhood, similar to many other Los Angeles communities, but they shouldn't be too challenging for your pup. You won't even notice the inclines as you walk through this pretty neighborhood filled with tree-lined streets and different storefronts on the main streets. Though the neighborhood is mostly artificial, there's plenty of greenery and foliage surrounding the sidewalks and roads. You'll want to take advantage of any grassier areas to give sensitive paws a break from hot pavement in the summer months.

The neighborhood's boundaries are three major roads: Venice Boulevard, the Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway, and the San Diego Expressway. Venice Boulevard provides a nice walk if you're interested in shopping or exploring some of Palms' different entertainment options, but be careful crossing the street or getting too close to the busy roadway. Stick to the middle of the neighborhood for a quieter, more relaxing walk through residential areas.

There are several parks and green spaces you'll encounter throughout Palms. After a jaunt down Venice Boulevard, stop by Media Park: a shady park perfect for a quiet rest under the trees. Another small park further north is Woodbine Park which features a playground and benches under shady trees. The Mar Vista Recreation Center, where you'll find athletic turf and grassy fields, is on the other side of the San Diego Expressway.

Though there aren't many large parks in Palms, there's plenty of greenery to enjoy while out walking in the residential areas. Most of the streets feature wide, grassy verges between the sidewalks and roadways that offer protection from cars as well as a place for a quick stop. There's also a sprawling lawn in front of Palms Middle School with pretty flowers and other foliage. Remember to obey leash laws in any residential areas in order to keep your pup safe.
