This neighborhood has a high concentration of housing with single-family homes, condominiums, duplexes, and walk up apartments being prevalent in the community. Homes are developed in close proximity to each other, making for a densely developed neighborhood. Properties are beautifully landscaped, although not particularly large, and many buildings in the area are older. 

The terrain in the area is flat and smooth to walk for pedestrians of all abilities. Busy roads such as Robertson Avenue and Pico Boulevard intersect and are lined with commercial developments that bring traffic through and into the Pico Robertson area. Residential streets are quieter for walking with your dog and less heavily trafficked, but busy commercial streets can have intersections, parking lots, and side streets where vehicles can be a hazard. Remember that drivers cannot always see a low-to-the-ground dog so keep your dog leashed and close to you to maintain their safety around vehicles.

La Cienega Park is located on the northeast border of Pico Robertson. This park features a recreation center, athletic facilities and fields, and a jogging track. Dogs that are properly leashed are welcome on the property to enjoy the pedestrian pathways and green spaces here.

For pet owners looking for an off-leash opportunity for their pups, the Beverly Hills Dog Park is located to the north. Canine users must be a member of the association to use this park, however, keys and tags can be obtained by registering and purchasing a membership. Pico Robertson’s energetic tail-waggers will enjoy a trip to the north to the natural areas in the mountains. These areas have steep climbs and rough terrain, so be prepared for a workout. You can also take your pup west to Santa Monica for a walk along the boardwalk or pier, though you'll want to avoid the beach itself, as dogs are not allowed.
