Wag! Walkers know Studio City
Studio City is a large commercial and residential community located in the San Fernando Valley and in the greater Los Angeles area. Studio City was named for the movie studio lot once located in the neighborhood. That studio lot is now CBS Studio Center where many modern TV shows and movies have been filmed. Beyond the filming location, Studio City is also home to local and chain restaurants, a public library, several schools, a recreation center, the Los Angeles River Walk, hotels, and more general shopping areas. There are some residential areas to the neighborhood, and they are largely made of standalone, single-family homes. Fun fact: the house used during the filming of 'The Brady Bunch' can be found in Studio City!

Like the rest of Los Angeles, Studio City has a mild climate, meaning you will probably not have incredibly hot or cold days when looking to walk your pup!
What is the terrain like in Studio City?
As so many Los Angeles neighborhoods are, Studio City is quite hilly which is a product of all the nearby mountains. The southern part of the neighborhood is significantly hillier than the northern, more built-up part of the neighborhood. Additionally, most of Studio City is artificial terrain, but with the presence of several parks, mountain ranges, and the river walk, there seems to be a good balance of the artificial and the natural! Additionally, if you and your pup are walking through the more residential neighborhoods, you will find well-maintained sidewalks and large trees to provide shade on sunny days.

As a rather large neighborhood, Studio City is bordered by Sherman Village and Valley Village to the north, Toluca Lake, Universal City, and Hollywood Hills to the east, Hollywood Hills West and the Santa Monica Mountains to the south, and Sherman Oaks to the west. All of these neighborhoods have a range of amenities to offer.
How many greenways are there in Studio City?
While must of Studio City is built-up and more artificial terrain, there are still plenty of greenways in the neighborhood. This is perfect if you and your pup are looking for a long walk or a temporary getaway from the city vibe. Local greenways include Studio City Recreation Center and its respective greenway, Moorpark Park, Valleyheart Greenway, Los Angeles River Greenway, North Valleyheart Riverwalk, Woodbridge Park, South Weddington Park,  Wilacre Park Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority, Coldwater Canyon Open Space, Longridge Park, and Dixie Canyon Park.

The last few, particularly Wilacre Park Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority, are hillier, as they are more directly at the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. This park, however, has plenty of walking and hiking trails if you and your pup are looking for a bit more adventure for the day!
If you are looking for something with less hills, the three greenways on the Los Angeles River promise great views and fun people-watching!
