The terrain of Tarzana is somewhat hilly and curvy, making it a bit more of a challenge for those who are more accustomed to flat terrain. Portions of the city lay in the valley and some are located within the Santa Monica Mountains. The city itself is generally very flat until you hit the Gateway and Topanga State Park where things can get a little tricky. Wearing appropriate footwear may be necessary and planning your route will come in handy.
If you and your pup venture to Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park, make sure to have plenty of water to stay hydrated. The park is actually 1500 acres of wilderness with both paved and unpaved trails. Be mindful of your surroundings at all times and keep track of your trail markers. Be sure to check your pup's paws for gravel, cuts, or wear after your hike!
