Valley Glen has a mild climate with a drier summer and wetter winter months. The average temperatures range from 59° - 76°F, so you and your pup do not have to deal with extreme hot or cold days! Just make sure you always have a sweater as it can get chilly during the evenings or when a breeze picks up.
The other neighborhoods that border Valley Glen includes Panorama City and Sun Valley to the north, North Hollywood to the east, Valley Village and Sherman Village to the south, and Van Nuys to the west. The neighborhood is bordered by the Hollywood Freeway to the east, so pedestrians will want to stay clear of that high-speed, heavy-traffic area.
Tujunga Greenbelt, located in the southern part of Valley Glen, is home to a 2,754 foot-long mural, the Great Wall of Los Angeles. The mural depicts the history of California through the eyes of minorities and women. It is often said to be one of the longest, public murals in the world.
Besides Tujunga Greenbelt, Valley Glen Community Park is the largest greenway in the neighborhood. This park has sports facilities, a playground, and a few walking trails for you and your pup to explore!
