View Park became a city in 1923 and has steadily become a safe, high-upper class neighborhood that boasts many Spanish Colonial and Mediterranean mansions. The summers in California are warm and dry with average temperatures from 73 degrees. The city can't wait for you to visit but they ask that you kindly be a responsible pawrent and keep your furry friend on a leash and clean up any messes they may leave behind.
View Park spans a total area of 1.842 square miles and is located in Los Angeles County. The neighborhood has several schools, the LA Sheriff's Department and Fire Station, and a branch of the LA Public Library named in memory of Bebe Moore Campbell, a former beloved resident of View Park. There are plenty of places to walk and explore with your pup but be mindful of any rough trails you may come across and inspect your pup's paws for wear and cracks and their fur for any freeloading critters that may jump on during your hike, especially if you venture into more natural areas.
The beautiful Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Park is located in the Baldwin Hills Mountains of LA and consists of 401 acres of varying terrain. As you walk along, you will notice some flat paths and some small and larger mountains. Be sure you and your pup are healthy enough to traverse that hill and remember to always keep plenty of water on hand to stay hydrated. As you hike, be mindful of the weather conditions and of any natural hazards such as sharp rocks, snakes or other wildlife. Take your time and hike away the day with your pup, but always be aware of your surroundings.
Hahn Park is the proud home to many of the area's most scenic overlooks. Besides hiking trails, you will see playgrounds, a basketball court, sand volleyball, over 100 picnic tables, a fishing lake, and a Japanese Garden with a stream and a waterfall. Be sure to clean up after yourselves and help keep this park beautiful!
