Clairemont is a region of San Diego, located 30 minutes north of the downtown area and including several sub-communities. There are several commercial and shopping areas with restaurants, local stores, and services that can be reached on foot in the area including the Clairemont Town Square, a shopping area along Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
There are several veterinarians in the Clairemont neighborhood that are easily accessible including the Dunk N' Dogs dog wash where dog owners can book a station to bathe their dogs and pet shops like Puppy N Motion and a couple of large pet supply retailers. There are also eateries where you can stop for a bite at dog-friendly outdoor seating. Due to the large geographical size of the region and natural areas and canyons in Clairemont, walking to services may not always be feasible. Warm sunny days throughout the year, however, provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy outings with your canine companion.
Clairemont is bordered by Interstate 805 on the east side, Clairemont Drive on the west side, Route 52 on the north side, and the Linda Vista neighborhood with a natural ravine on the south side. The region is 13.3 square miles in size and contains many smaller neighborhoods.

The Tecolote Canyon Natural Park provides a great natural greenway with a long hiking trail to explore with your pet. The natural area is comprised of 903 acres and extends for six miles. You will find natural vegetation and wildlife in the park such as rabbits, coyotes, and various reptiles. There is also a golf course on the south end of the canyon that is not accessible to pets.
