The Liberty Station NTC Park is located along the waterfront and has beautifully maintained open lawns and shade trees with a memorial to those lost at sea during World War II. Other amenities in the park include a playground, basketball court, sports fields, and picnic sites. Paved walking paths in the park can be enjoyed by people with pets, but your dog must be leashed.

For off-leash fun, you can drive 10 minutes north to the Dusty Rhodes Dog Park. This fenced-in dog park allows your pup to play loose, but you should still supervise and clean up after your pet. Your canine companion must have vaccinations up to date and be licensed to enjoy this park.

Ocean Beach Dog Beach is not far to the northwest and can be reached by vehicle. This is one of the few San Diego beaches where dogs are allowed and makes a great place for your puppy to play in the surf.
