Carroll Canyon is located on the south side of the community and has some natural vegetation and dirt trails. The larger Los Penasquitos Creek Canyon is located on the north side. The Los Penasquitos Canyon Trail runs for 6.8 miles and is very popular with cyclists and hikers. The trails feature a waterfall and are accessible to hikers and hounds of most ability levels. The trail is subject to flooding during wet weather and may be closed if the conditions become treacherous.
Torrey Hills Dog Park is located to the north of Sorrento Valley with a 13-minute drive. This enclosed off-leash dog park is spacious and has water fountains for your dog to rehydrate on hot days. This is a great dog park for your pooch to play loose and socialize. You must supervise your pet and be prepared to clean up after them at all times.
