Bayview has spent much of its time as an area of industrialization and ports, so it has gotten a reputation as not the best place to live. Take a look around now and what you will find is a neighborhood which has been revitalized! Many people say this area is not only affordable, but the people here are friendly and community oriented. There are plenty of restaurants, stores, and other businesses around for making pit stops during your daily walks and pet stores are also readily available. You can also find groomers, but you will need to head out to Bernal Heights to find any veterinarians.

This close to the coast, you can expect plenty of wind and fog as well as some rain. Despite this, temperatures always stay mild, if a bit chilly, so grab an umbrella if you think you need one and head out for a walk!

Bayview has a mix of hills and flat areas depending on where you live. You have the option of taking easy strolls or putting a bit more effort into your daily walks. Make sure to assess your fitness level, but also make sure you take into account your dog’s overall health and fitness. If you have a dog that has spare energy to burn, feel free to tackle a few of the considerable hills in this area. If, however, you are the loving owner of an elderly pooch, be sure to take it easy on them.

Bayview has all concrete sidewalks and few trees. You might find some grass in a few areas but rather than search for these sparse patches of green, you may be better off heading to one of the numerous parks in the area if you want to give your dog a bit of nature to enjoy.
