As it is located directly on the San Francisco Bay, you will likely feel a cool breeze in Mission Bay! Like the rest of San Francisco and much of the California coast, this neighborhood experiences a mild climate, so extreme temperatures should never deter you and your pup from exploring outside!
Mission Bay's boundaries include 3rd Street to the northeast, the San Francisco Bay to the east, 16th Street to the south, 7th Street to the southwest, and Dwight D. Eisenhower Highway to the northwest. Major roadways in Mission Bay include 3rd Street, 4th Street, and Brannan Street and pedestrians may want to avoid them as they will be more congested.
However, Mission Creek and Bay Front are the two largest parks in this neighborhood, both located on the water! Bay Front Park houses a section of the San Francisco Bay Trail, a 500-mile trail that follows the coast of the San Francisco Bay. This trail is open to walkers and cyclists. Mission Creek Park is home to walking trails, sports facilities, and a small amphitheater for programming purposes.
The Mission Bay Dog Park, an off-leash area for your pup, is located on Berry Street and is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day!
