Street, and 4th Street are all fairly congested throughout the day and they become even more so during regular rush hour times. You may want to

How many greenways are there in SoMa?
The eastern edge of SoMa includes some smaller communities such as Mission Bay and South Beach. These areas have a wide selection of greenways and parks that run right up alongside the edge of San Francisco Bay and make for great places to take your dog for a walk. Mission Creek Park stretches for 10 acres and has an outdoor amphitheater, plenty of open green space, and a small creek that runs through its center and leads into the Bay.
Just north of Mission Creek Park is South Beach Park which is a smaller area. It still has an open field for children and dogs to play in, as well as a large playground to enjoy. It is located right on the waterfront, which makes for great views. There are several smaller parks along the waterfront that you and your dog can also explore within the boundaries of SoMa.
