Chaffee Park is a neighborhood located in northwest Denver, Colorado. There are commercial areas in several sections of the neighborhood with businesses and services that can be reached on foot. The east side has some commercial and light industrial activity, including a grocery store and adjacent to this commercial section on the south border of Chaffee Park is a small shopping center with more shops and services.

Federal Boulevard on Chaffee Park’s west side is lined with local fast food eateries, convenience stores, and service stations. An elementary school and several parks are also within walking distance.

Dog walkers in Denver should be prepared for some cool, snowy winters. Summers are warm and pleasant for walking, however, extreme heat sometimes occurs and precautions should be taken to avoid overexposure or overexertion when the temperature soars. Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are also possible. Check forecasts to avoid extreme weather conditions which can come on suddenly due to Denver’s high plains location.

Chaffee Park is bordered by train tracks on its east side, 52nd Avenue on its north side, Interstate 70 on the south side, and Federal Boulevard on the west border. There are some apartment complexes and an assisted living facility on the community's northwest side, but most of the single-family dwellings in the district are bungalow style homes. Residential properties are well landscaped, neat, and well maintained with trees and lawns.

There are no sidewalks along residential streets, so pedestrians and pets need to share the road with local traffic where grassy berms do not provide a separate place for foot travelers.

The terrain in the Chaffee Park neighborhood is flat, so dogs and people of all ability levels can easily navigate the area with no steep hills to climb. Avoid the busy freeway to the south and the tracks and railyards to the east as these are not pedestrian-friendly areas.
