Dog Walking in Denver

Dog Walking Fun Fact #1:

Keeping your furry best friend healthy may also extend their lifespan, and keep you two together longer. Regular walks not only curb obesity, but they can also keep joints limber and lower the chances of your dog developing life-threatening diseases like diabetes, heart disease and some cancers. Walking to one of the Mile High City’s 200 parks is a sure way to get your dog moving!

Dog Walking Fun Fact #2:

If you are gone all day, chances are your dog is itching for some excitement. Bored dogs can become destructive, but daily exercise can be a furbulous cure. Rather than coming home to destroyed rugs or furniture, give your dog some adventure with a daily walk through Denver’s colorful neighborhoods, or a weekend trek through the nearby Arapaho National Forest.

Dog Walking Fun Fact #3:

Dogs who play well with others can conquer anything! The more confidence your dog has, the better they can cope with anxiety and new situations, and meeting lots of new people and pups can increase that confidence. With over a dozen dog parks in Denver to walk to, it’s easy to get your dog romping with their peers.

Average Cost of Dog Walking in Denver

With several services that can help your dog get moving, you may wonder about dog walking rates in Denver. Most dog walking companies offer walks Monday through Friday during business hours. Those that offer walks outside of those times, or on weekends, often charge additional fees. You could be paying up to $20 for a 15-minute walk, $32 for 45-minutes, or as much as $50 for 60-minutes. On top of that, some services require that you commit to multiple walks per week.

With Wag!, you and your dog can choose between On-Demand walks which occur within the hour, One-Time walks when your dog needs them, or Recurring walks for those pups who need more exercise. Not only are dog walkers with Wag! ready to pamper your pup from early morning until late evening every day of the week, they are also thoroughly vetted and insured to give you peace of mind. Whether your dog just needs a quick 20-minute spin for around $15, a 30-minute walk for about $20, or a 60-minute adventure averaging $30, Wag! has you covered!

And with GPS tracking through the Wag! app, you’ll always know where your dog is. Wag! pet caregivers will even leave a report card at the end of each walk.

Dog Parks in Denver

Since there’s so many puptastic places in Denver to explore with your pup, you’ll never run out of interesting walks. While exploring the bustling LoDo neighborhood, you may love the shopping, restaurants, and historic Victorians, but your pup will probably be more fond of the Railyard Dog Park. This triangle shaped space near the train tracks offers separate areas for big and small dogs, a sand and gravel surface, and lots of space to play.

While Stapleton has an extensive network of connecting community parks to check out, your pup is sure to be tugging at the leash to get to the Stapleton Greenway Dog Park. The large grounds feature shade and fountains, and a sandy terrain which can be deep in some areas, making it pawfect for larger dogs.

Head to the Berkeley neighborhood for pawtastic views of the lake while your pup romps with furry furiends at the Berkeley Dog Park. Across the street from the amusement park, this spot can get noisy, so it’s not for skittish doggos. Covered in paw-friendly pea gravel, the park offers water in warm weather, and with trails nearby that surround the lake, your dog is sure to get tuckered out.

For a quieter afternoon, check out the Green Valley Ranch Dog Park in the highly residential Green Valley Ranch neighborhood. Though the rest of the park that surrounds it is grassy, the dog park is mostly sand. It also offers a small dog section and a gazebo for you to lounge under while your dog has a blast. For the serious walkers out there, the park also provides access to the 71-mile High Line Canal Trail that runs from Aurora to Roxborough Park along the canal itself.

All Denver’s furbulous dog parks are open every day to dogs who have current rabies vaccinations and tags, and a dog license. The city asks that visitors work together to help keep holes filled and pet waste picked up, as well as to keep the clean-up bag dispensers stocked. Always have your dog leashed outside of off-leash areas, and a leash on hand while your pup runs free.

Dog Walking in Denver with Wag!

With so much outdoor recreation available in and around Denver, you and your dog are sure to find pawsome experiences to share. But when your dog wants to play when you are away, Wag! can get your pup out and about!

If you have an Australian Cattle Dog or a Border Collie, these active Denver favorites would love frequent long walks to get that energy out. Smaller Chihuahuas or Shih Tzus may only need a short patrol, while aging Labrador Retrievers could use something right in the middle. Dog walkers with Wag! personalize each experience to your dog’s needs with 20-minute, 30-minute and 60-minute walks available. And if your elderly German Shepherd just needs a friendly face, you can schedule a Drop-In to put some wag in that tail right at home.

Getting your dog moving is easy! Just download the Wag! app, select a date and time, choose the length of walk that’s pawfect for your pup, and that’s it! Choose the best Pet Caregiver by searching dog walker profiles to see your finalized rate. Whether your dog needs daily walks, or an on-demand walk for when you just can’t get home in time, the best dog walking app offers GPS tracking, and text and video messaging from your walker so you’ll always know how your dog is doing.

When life keeps you busy, your dog doesn’t have to lose out. Keep the pep in your dog’s step by booking a walk with Wag! today!
