Edgewater is a city that offers a small-town feel just a few minutes from the big city of Denver. This attracts families that are looking for a new home in a town that has been steadily growing since it was incorporated in 1901. The area is full of Victorian homes that are available both for sale and for rent. The city is increasingly diverse, and about half of the residents rent.

The town of Edgewater was formed around the same time as Sloan's Lake. Both areas were developed out of a desire to increase the number of family-friendly towns in the area as other cities were growing back in the late 1800s.

When walking your dog through Edgewater, you will enjoy scenic tree-lined streets with lots of charm. There are several local parks in the surrounding towns for all of your dog's energy burning needs. There is also a historic business district that is worth taking a stroll through after a busy day to unwind and enjoy the view.

There are two animal hospitals within ten minutes of Edgewater, making finding great veterinary care simple and affordable. There are also plenty of fast food restaurants where you can bring your pup for a quick bite.

Sloan Lake is both a neighborhood and a park in Denver located about ten minutes away from Edgewater. Over time, the aquifer formed what would become Denver's largerst lake, at 177 acres. If you are looking for a great place to take Sparky for a walk after work, there is a 2.8 mile path that winds through the park. There is a smaller park called Hallack Park just a few minutes away if your dog prefers a little extra personal space.
