Greenwood Village is a former simple farm town turned dynamic residential city with plenty of nationally recognized businesses and parks nearby. The town is diverse and growing every year, welcoming more and more new families into the area, many of which are bringing their fur babies with them! It is hard to believe at first glance that just fifty years ago, the area was mostly home to cows and dairy farmers! The city still manages to preserve its small-town charm, however, especially in the hospitality department.
While in Greenwood Village, there are many green spaces to explore, but the 6-acre William McKinley Carson Park, next to City Hall, is a lovely area to bring your pup for an afternoon of fun! You will meet many other four-legged friends here enjoying the hiking and bike trail, or strolling the boardwalk that allows you to walk out onto the Greenwood Gulch for a closer look. There is even a pond designated for fishing.
If you need to make sure you have reliable veterinary care for your canine co-pilot, no need to worry! There are three animal hospitals in Greenwood Village and several more less than ten minutes away in the surrounding areas.
The Preserve at Greenwood Village is home to one of the most well-known parks in the city. The Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve is truly a local hidden gem in the heart of town. It is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to meet one another while enjoying the scenic trails that run through greenery and waterways. Artists are frequently seen in this park capturing different aspects of everything the area has to offer, from the water to the wildlife that calls the preserve their home. You will need plenty of energy and waste bags if you plan on sniffing out this beauty!
Sundance Valley is a lovely area with parks and restaurants that will have your dog's tail wagging for hours on end. Sundance Park is just a walk away, and Tommy Davis Park is almost 13 acres of open fields, athletic courts, a playground, pond, and trails. You will want to bring a leash and plenty of waste bags for your afternoon in this park! If you are up early with a good appetite, head over to Early Bird, where you can get breakfast and brunch on a dog-friendly, casual gated patio. The restaurant is open every day from 7 am until 2:30 pm.
Belleview Village is a welcoming neighborhood with luxury updated homes for sale on half-acre lots. Just a few minutes away, the award-winning Westlands Park is over 25 acres of gorgeous landscape, complete with multi-use trails that are good for hiking or biking with your pup on-leash. A harness is recommended on the trails to keep your pup comfortable. If you are bringing the whole family, there is a playground as well that has its own climbing structures built right in for a unique play experience! Just be sure to bring plenty of waste bags for the trip.
