Southmoor Park is a small and older neighborhood bordering Interstate 25. Originally part of the suburbs of Denver, the addition of the Denver
Tech center has infused new life into this neighborhood. This community is full
of neat, well-kept homes and is considered a safe place to live and walk.
Almost
entirely residential, Southmoor has little in amenities and, due to the highways
and interstates, most shopping will have to be done by car. Pet supplies are

Climate is amenable to walking with a dry, arid feel that
leaves over 300 days a year perfect for a stroll around
the block. The area does get snow, so there may be a few days where staying indoors is the best option. Summers are not overly hot, but don’t forget that hot
sidewalks can make roadways unwalkable for your pup’s tender paws.
What is the terrain like in Southmoor Park?

The one problem that the side streets of Southmoor Park do have is the lack of sidewalks. While Southmoor Park is not quite as blessed as some of the other neighborhoods in the area, it does have one small park, known as Jefferson Square Park, which offers some grass and a few trees. It might make a great place to take your pup when they just have to have a romp in the grass.
Just to the east, you will find several other parks including Southmoor Park, Rosamond Park, and Eastmoor Park. Rosamond Park is only a few blocks away and offers trails running through and along Goldsmith Gulch. These trails are paved, but the greenways that run along them more than make up for that. Rosamond Park is the perfect spot to head to for hot days with a creek to help you and your pup stay cool.
