Highlands Ranch is a community that was incorporated relatively recently in 1981. The community has boomed in population and is home to almost 100,000 people.  The community is featured by many magazines and websites as a simply fantastic place to live due to its intentional design, plentiful parks, and amazing real estate. The city is expected to continue to grow as more new families move into the area.

Although the official town was incorporated in 1981, the community was home to settlers more and 100 years ago and is home to many pieces of history. The Highlands Ranch Mansion, which is more than 100 years old, is a well-known landmark open to the public for tours on certain days, although your pup will have to sit that adventure out.

Many of the communities in Highlands Ranch are connected by the city's trail system, which has over 70 miles worth of trails to encourage residents to get out and enjoy nature! This pupperific trail system is part of the reason the town has been listed as one of the best places to raise a family in the area.

There are four animal hospitals in Highlands Ranch and many more in surrounding cities, like Littleton.
