Centennial is a unique city in Colorado, in that it only became a city very recently in 2001. In 2012, the city opened the award-winning Centennial Center Park. This park has a little bit of everything for your family, from water features which hit the spot during the hot summer months to climbing walls and picnic areas.
There are more than ten animal hospitals in the city of Centennial and in the surrounding areas. The nearest dog park is Cherry Creek Dog Off-Leash Area in the neighboring town of Aurora, though there are several more dog parks to speak of both to the north and the south of Centennial. Dogs are also welcome on-leash at most of the city's award-winning, family-friendly parks.
If you are looking for the best in local flavor, Lost Highway Brewing Company is a top-rated dog-friendly brewery in town serving up a variety of amazing craft beers. Leashed pets are welcome patrons on the patio, weather permitting. If you are in the mood for a big plate of food, the Corner Bakery serves up more than sweets, offering a dog-friendly dive where you can order breakfast, lunch, dinner, and of course, dessert!
Algonquin Acres is a neighborhood on the eastern side of town where you will see more room to roam. If you want to live in Centennial but want a little extra space for your family, this is a great area to house hunt in! Just down the road is the Cherry Creek Valley Ecological Park, with plenty of native plants and small animals to admire from the trails. There is a wooden boardwalk that will take you safely across the wetlands and let you get up close and personal with the pond! Dogs are welcome on all trails as long as they are on a leash.
