The park is fully enclosed, so you do not have to worry about safety – Raccoon River Dog Park has you covered. The 12 acres of this spacious dog park are full of scents, playmates, and grassy fields. Benches are also placed throughout the dog park for use, and separate areas for small dogs are also available.

Clive

Only 20 minutes from metropolitan Dallas Center, Clive is the place to go for a good hike. With two major trails to choose from, Clive Greenbelt Trail and Des Moines Trail, you can hike all day with your four-legged best friend. Maps of both trails are provided, so do not fret on getting lost.  Both are considered favorite trails in the local Dallas Center area. With a beautiful scenic view and miles of trail, this local area is gold for any outdoorsy dogs. These trails can be completed in an estimated two hours each, so pack some snacks, water, and waste bags and come hike the trails of Clive.

Ankeny

Ankeny is a beautiful city not too far from Dallas Center. With only a 35-minute commute from Dallas Center, Ankeny is warm and welcoming to all pooches. With one dog park, one hiking trail, and one dog-friendly pet store, Ankeny has it all. The local hiking trail is based off a rail-trail system that is becoming increasingly popular. The local dog park is highly recommended from frequent park goers, and consists of almost eight acres of open field and a small waterfront. After playing in the park, you can visit the local Tractor Supply with Fido to purchase him or her a treat for being such a great companion.

Your dog is asked to remain leashed, but that is okay, because beside you is where your dog wants to be. These trails are peaceful for any nature lover needed to replenish energy from the hustle of city life. Your dog will have a blast walking beside you and sniffing around the local trails of Madrid.
