Canine lovers in the Elk Meadow neighborhood can hike along the 8.7 mile Elk Meadows Trail along Bergen Peak, one of the best options to allow your pup some energetic play. When you and the pup need some fresh air and exercise, take a walk along the path and admire the wildflowers as long as your dog stays on leash. If you are visiting the area, check out Fool’s Gold Cottage, a pet-friendly Airbnb. The cottage is available for both long and short terms stays, and your pooch will love the yard and open space.

Troutdale

One of the main pup-friendly attractions in the Troutdale neighborhood is Dedisse Park. The space covers over 65 acres and features a golf course in addition to a picnic area. Evergreen Lake is surrounded by nature trails where you can walk Fido and enjoy the wetlands. Your pooch can romp and run through the grass sniffing interesting plants. Connected to the park is Keys on the Green, where 16 dog-friendly tables allow golfers and their family to enjoy seafood, beef, and a vegetarian menu. You may also want to check out EverBean, a pooch-friendly coffee shop where your pup can lounge under the table while you enjoy an espresso.

The Brook Forest neighborhood is family and Fido-friendly with well-maintained homes and large backyards. When you are searching for some quality time with your pup, head over to Maxwell Falls Trail where you can enjoy an easy hike and beautiful waterfalls. Just 9 minutes from the Trail stop off is Cub Creek Park where you can walk and hike while admiring the birds and wildlife. Fido needs to be kept on his leash at both destinations and be sure to bring your own doggie waste bags and clean up after your pup. After a day of exercise on the trail, try La’Cuisine of Evergreen and D-Rass Deli. The dog-friendly restaurant features outdoor tables where you can enjoy soup and salad while Fido laps up some water and snacks or a treat.

Parmalee Gulch

Parmalee Gulch

You and your pup will love the Parmalee Gulch neighborhood and Pence Park. When driving up Bear Creek Canyon, the trailhead is located right off the parking area and stretches through 6 miles. You and your pooch will enjoy hiking along the path through the forest and climbing on the rocks. Once you reach the top, take the time to admire the views. If you want to stay in the area, visit Colorado Bear Creek Cabins and you and your pup can enjoy the private balcony or patio and spend time in the fresh air with your pooch. 

Hidden Valley

Fillius Park offers excellent hiking trails in the Hidden Valley neighborhood. In addition to picnic tables and a covered shelter, the trails that wind along the ridge are perfect for a day with Fido. While walking, you can take a break at the rock shelter and get a drink and snack. Later in the day, take a trip over to the Smiling Moose Rocky Mountain Deli where you can sit at one of the pet-friendly tables and eat a sandwich, salad, or soup. Another neighborhood attraction is the Chow Down pet store that offers premium pet food. Keeping Fido happy and healthy begins with good nutrition and spending time with your pup.
