Downtown
This dog-friendly neighborhood is located 20 miles from Black Hawk, Colorado, and is home to the Beaver Brook Trail, which is a pawesome place to hike. The trail can be challenging, so make sure you and your pup are in decent shape. There are spots on the trail that are rocky and some hills that may take additional effort. The entire trail is bordered by trees which provide plenty of shade for you and your canine pal. There is plenty of parking and garbage cans at the entrance of the trail as well. You will want to bring plenty of water with you, though. Put on your hiking shoes and enjoy a day full of exercise on this gorgeous nature trail!

Windy Saddle Park
This pawesome neighborhood, located about 20 minutes from Black Hawk, is happy to welcome you and your fur baby. There's a great trail for you and your pooch to hike here: the Colorado Trail, which runs from Denver to Durango. Most areas of the trail allow dogs to be off their leash, but there are a few areas that require them to be on their leash, and these areas are marked with signs. The trail is mainly grass and dirt covered with a lot of trees for shade. You will need to bring supplies for cleaning up after your pooch along with plenty of water. Put on your walking shoes, grab your furry friend's leash and come out for a day of fun in the sun!

South Foothills
This neighborhood is home to yet another excellent hike with a breathtaking view. The Flatirons Vista and Doudy Draw Trail is located about an hour from Black Hawk, Colorado. This trail is a 3.7-mile hike and has a lot of twists and turns. It is an easy trail to hike, but it's narrow in some places. Be sure to bring plenty of water, as there is not much shade on this open trail. Your pooch will enjoy sniffing all of the wild flowers and then cooling off in the pond that sits along the trail. Keep in mind you will need to bring supplies for cleaning up after your canine friend, and you should bring some water along as well.

Elk Meadow Park
If you and your pooch are looking for space to roam, around then this neighborhood has just the place for you! It is located about 21 miles from Black Hawk, and is home to the Elk Meadow Open Space Bark Park. This off-leash dog park encompasses 107 acres and has two areas that are completely fenced in that cover 6 acres. There are also 3.2 miles of trails available for you and your pup to explore. The trails are surrounded by pine forest, so there is plenty of shade here. There's also a creek that crosses the trails. Your pup will love to splash in the creek and climb on some of the rocky areas of the trails. You will need to bring water for you and your pup along with supplies to clean up. There is also an open area to play fetch, too. Grab a ball and come out for a pawesome time!
East Boulder
The main attraction in this dog-friendly neighborhood is the East Boulder Dog Park. This neighborhood is about an hour outside of Black Hawk, and is located on Sioux Drive in Boulder. There are two areas where your pooch can play in this fenced-in, off-leash dog park. These areas are separated based on dog size. Shade trees make this park the pawfect place to play on a summer day. There's also a pond here, so be sure to bring a towel! You'll also need to bring drinking water and clean-up supplies.
