Olde Town Arvada Area
A little over 33 miles from Nederland is Olde Town in Arvada, CO. This neighborhood is near the center of Arvada and has the area’s best shopping and dining experiences – including some fun dining opportunities for dogs and their owners! Yak & Yeti is a local favorite that serves up authentic Indian and Nepali cuisine. They do a grrr-eat buffet and they cater to canines outside. Or for a sweet treat, consider stopping in at Scrumptious. This ice-cream shop has some really unique flavors, and wagging tails are welcome at their outdoor tables. Be sure to try the Whiskey Cone!

Apple Meadows
Apple Meadows in Arvada is around 26 miles from Nederland. This peaceful, suburban area of Arvada has one of the best dog parks around, nestled next to the Bird’s Nest Disc Park. At West Arvada Dog Park, your favorite pooch has 10 acres of park to explore, and there’s even a separate area for small or nervous dogs to have fun in a calmer environment. The park even provides some agility equipment for extra exercise and fun! You can also visit the nearby Long Lake Regional Park with your leashed dog to watch sporting events and other outdoor activities.

If you drive about 30 miles south of Nederland, you’ll reach Logo South in Golden, CO. This neighborhood has quite a few things for your dog to enjoy, like Lions Park, where your leashed dog can join you in just about any activity – and get some incredible views of the mountains! Part of the Colorado Trail runs through Logo South, too, and your pooch can explore part of the trail off-leash as long as they're under voice control. For some paw-friendly dining options in the neighborhood, check out Mountain Toad Brewing, Golden City Brewing, and Anthony’s Pizza, all of which have outdoor seating for doggies and their owners.

Ward, Colorado is only about 12 miles from Nederland. This rural town isn’t divided into neighborhoods and currently has only about 156 residents. However, this is a popular place for tourists to the area to visit for some of the best outdoor activities Colorado has to offer – and there’s even a paw-friendly hotel here in which to stay. Lake Isabelle and Pawnee Pass Trail is one of two trails that welcome leashed dogs, spanning seven miles and winding through a gorgeous landscape. Mitchell and Blue Lakes Trail is your other dog-friendly option. This one is a little over five miles long, passing creeks and Colorado beauty.

Iron Horse
The surrounding areas of Nederland, Colorado offer a lot of outdoor adventures for you and your dog! Around 60 miles from Nederland is Iron Horse in Winter Park, CO. This neighborhood is home to the Winter Park Resort, which offers dog-friendly hotels if you’re just visiting the area. Here, your pup can join you on the Fraser River Trail, which has over six miles for you and your leashed dog to run, walk, or play on. Close by is Goody’s Mountain Creperie, the perfect spot for coffee and pastries after a long day on the trail. Your dog is welcome on the outdoor patio!
