While hiking this trail, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the mountains, but there isn't much shade, so make sure to bring plenty of water with you.

Forest Road 128

The Jim Creek Trail is a great 6.6-mile path that offers a beautiful view of wild flowers as you pass the Jim Creek, and explore through the Arapaho National Forest. The Arapaho National Forest is in the Rocky Mountains and features high rockies and rivers that your dog can splash around in. The Jim Creek Trail has a 1,213-foot elevation gain on an out and back route, giving you and your pup a good days worth of exercise. You will travel through the woods on this hike, which is mainly covered by trees that offer plenty of shade. Make sure to keep Fido on leash in the area, and don't forget your water.

If you and Fido get hungry while you are out and about, stop into the plethora of restaurants that welcome your pup to join you for a meal. Volario's offers the unique flavors of Italy with a seasonal menu that is always changing, and can include lasagna or fish. Rudi's Deli is a casual eatery that serves a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches. Smokin' Moe's Ribhouse and Saloon serves award-winning barbecue in a family fun environment. They dish out an array of burgers, soups, and sandwiches that Fido will be drooling over. All of these great restaurants offer dog friendly patios that welcome your four legged friend to join you.

Take Fido out to Wolf Park for a fun afternoon at the park with you. This pawsome park offers great amenities, like basketball courts, a gazebo, picnic area with BBQs, a pavilion for shade, playground, tennis courts, and a volleyball court. The park also offers both a bike trail and a nature trail that you and your furry pal can use for a good afternoon walk together. There are restrooms and portable water too. Your pup will love having a picnic out at this park and enjoying a good walk on the trail that is provided.
