Seattle, Washington, has some of the best dog-friendly Christmas displays on the West Coast, and we’re here to tell you about the best of the bunch. Below are some of our FAVORITE Christmas lights in Seattle for dog walking!

Candy Cane Lane in Seattle’s Ravenna neighborhood should be your first stop on your lights journey. This neighborhood is the subject of many local articles praising its pretty lights and tasteful displays. Each house has a different theme, from trains and sleighs to polar bears and reindeers. 

This “lit” hamlet is just a bone’s throw from the University of Washington. Residents begin their displays the first weekend in December and run them until the new year. Park at the end of Northeast Park Road and get to walking. Your dogs will think they’ve gone to the North Pole with all candy canes and bright lights! 

Our next destination takes us to Bellvue, Washington, only 15 minutes from the heart of Seattle. At the start of December, Bellvue Way transforms into a Snowflake Lane, a magical winter wonderland enjoyed by suburban families young and old. This main street has one of the best public displays around and makes the perfect setting for a crisp dog walk. 

Miracle on 134th is one of the first Christmas displays to light up, flipping their switches the day after Thanksgiving. This Snohomish family creates elaborate displays for Halloween and Easter, but they outdo themselves every Christmas. This home is covered with more than 5,000 lights and whimsical characters, often featuring themes like space and “pawpular” cartoons.

The lights are set to music, creating an immersive experience that keeps local families coming back for more. Make sure you tune in to 93.9 FM for the full experience. What’s more, the family often dedicates their songs to hometown heroes, like police and healthcare workers. The 20-minute light show happens nightly from 5 pm to 10 pm until January 3rd, so you’ll have plenty of time for dog walks in this neighborhood! 

Thirty minutes north of Seattle in Bothell is a Christmas display that’s been a local favorite for years. The presentation covers a whole acre of private land and has several sections with different themes to keep things exciting. 

Keener’s Chrismas display is comprised of 100,000 lights and countless inflatables, cut-outs, and animatronic displays. The Kenner family uses this spectacular light show as a fundraiser for local charities, and donations of non-perishable food are greatly appreciated. If you’re feeling generous, you may put food donations in the gingerbread house and money in the collection box near the exit. 

Sorry, Fido — this is a drive-thru-only display. Your pooch will still have a blast hanging their head out to view the lights. 

Last but certainly not least is an award-winning Christmas display that’s sure to impress. The Very Merry Christmas House in Kent took 1st place in 2015 for the best lights in the state, but their production hasn’t slowed down in recent years. Each year, the Christmas House has a unique theme, like retro toys or classic cartoon characters. 

The property boasts over 50,000 lights, which flash and glow to a whole playlist of songs. While you cruise, turn your radio dial to 89.1 FM for the full experience. The coolest part is that most of the displays you see are repurposed from scrap and other recycled materials. This light show generously donates all canned goods and monetary donations they receive to organizations that fight hunger in Washington State.
